A heritage spanning more than a century
Kenon’s Neapolitan roastery was founded in the heart of Naples, where the Wurzburger family has been roasting coffee since 1892. For five generations, we have preserved the same method: selecting the finest Arabica coffees and roasting them with artisanal care.
We are proud ambassadors of Neapolitan espresso around the world. It is no coincidence that, in 2014, Eccellenze Campane selected Kenon as the only coffee capable of representing and celebrating the true tradition of Neapolitan coffee.
From Bar Vinicolo, in the heart of Naples
It all began in 1892, when Giulio Wurzburger opened the family’s first establishment, Bar Vinicolo, in Naples’ historic centre. Towards the end of the 1950s, Giovanni carried on his legacy, supplying his coffee to cafés across the city.
In the 1960s, Vittorio opened Max Bar on Via dei Tribunali—one of our most popular blends still bears its name—and in 1968 moved the roastery to Cafè Centro Brasil on Via Nazionale, beneath a sign that captured the spirit of an era: “Coffee for everyone”, roasted over wood.

Kenon’s philosophy has always remained the same: maintaining the highest quality standards and creating blends with an inimitable flavour. This commitment begins with the raw materials and continues through every stage of production, from selection at the plantation to roasting. Today, Kenon supplies more than 3,500 cafés in Italy and abroad, with a production capacity of 45 tonnes per day. A journey of growth that has kept the family’s traditions intact for more than a century.
